In the UK, there is a shortfall of over 170 000 workers in the STEM sector while many youth, especially those from more disadvantaged backgrounds, face barriers such as low teaching quality, lack of confidence and access to quality resources & equipment. This project helps students to discover the STEM world and how they can shape the future through 2 key components:

1/ Online mentoring programme in which students (13-19 years old) receive personalised support to explore future career options, engage with STEM professionals to ask about careers advice, learn about potential STEM careers & jobs.

2/ Placement opportunities to gain real-life workplace experience in the STEM sector. Choice between a 5-day experience in STEM sectors to increase career-related knowledge & develop skills, or a 2-week research placement over the summer fully STEM skills-focused.
