To reduce the electricity costs of Chance Children’s Home, an organisation which cares for orphans and neglected or abused children, a solar PV system will be built on the roof of the Home’s large storage facility. The electricity generated will be fed into the Home’s electricity network.

The project will also reduce CO2 emissions of over 50t per annum, considering that 85% of South Africa’s electricity is generated by coal power.
