Typhoon Odette (Dec. 2021) has severely affected 9.9 M people and devastated lands & livelihoods of coastal fishing communities.
The project aims to support population & wildlife recovery through:
- Repairing houses
- Providing hygiene kits & solar lighting for households in need to restart businesses
- Recycling fishing-net
- Protecting marine areas
- Repairing non-motorised boats for seaweed farmers
- Establishing revolving funds for farmers to secure new seaweed seedlings for planting out
- Replacing marine marker buoys & signage
- Repairing guard houses for marine & coastal protection areas 9/ Assess mangrove & habitats, restore/plant to strengthen coastal defenses against future storms.
