  • Location Ucayali, Loreto & Huánuco

Isolated communities in Peru face extreme poverty and a lack of education. On top of that, detrimental farming methods are used, leading to 90% of deforestation. This project aims to provide farmers coming from 51 marginalised communities with sustainable farming techniques, enhancing household incomes whilst also restoring the Amazon rainforest & its biodiversity:

1/ Skills development through training workshops in agroforestry (with field schools) & growth mindset workshops (Problem solving, etc) 2/ Development & maintenance of thriving agroforestry systems through

a) Diagnostic farm visits for monitoring & planning

b) Provision of tools & inputs (fertilizers) to nurture crops & trees

c) Provision of seeds/plants & assistance with replanting saplings & grafting cocoa trees

d) Creation of fire breaks

e) Support to set up composting.
