  • Status

    Ongoing

  • Location Districts of Abidjan & the Lagoons (Grands-Ponts, Agnéby-Tiassa & Mé regions)

80% of food crops in Ivory Coast are produced by women, and at the same time, they are facing many barriers such as gender discrimination and unpaid work. This project aims to enhance the socio-economic development of 100 women farmers by:

1/ Ensure ecological transition of food crop production methods (agroecological practices, awareness of chemicals harmful effects on health & soil)

2/ Facilitate access to inputs (seeds, organic fertilizers, biofertilizers, bio repellents)

3/ Improve women economic conditions (availability of food products by structuring value chains)

4/ Develop skills (training in community life, cooperative life & management incl. administration, finance, HR)

5/ Enhance capacity on group selling & collective marketing strategy (Participation in trade events & workshops on group selling).
