- Location India
When running away from home, almost all children take the rail route where the train takes them anywhere. Gradually, the junctions, terminus or adjacent slums become their second home where they pick up survival norms.
The project aims to support railway children and empower slum communities through:
- A Day Care Centre providing shelter, food, education, skill-building and health support
- Suraksha Education Center providing classes, vocational trainings and library services
- Advocacy and research on vulnerable children’s rights (awareness campaigns, communication involving relevant stakeholders including the Government)
