A large share of the 75,000-100,000 higher species present in Czech nature are declining or are threatened with extinction due to invasive species, unsustainable agriculture & forestry and climate change.
The project aims to restore biodiversity by encouraging active participation of local people in nature conservation through awareness & protection of 3 different ecosystems:
- Forests
- Wilderness
- Agricultural landscapes.
The NGO, along with 160 collaborators will implement volunteering weeks (4,000 working hours in total) protecting biodiversity in 8 sites of various regions (Protection of trees from deer damage, protection of local seedlings, removal of invasive species, etc) while developing skills in nature conservation & biodiversity.
