In 2016, the Alstom Foundation partnered with Arca de Noe de Apoio social, to help them build the first professional training center for young people in a Favela. This year, the Foundation is extending a grant towards the operating costs of the project.
Together, our aim is to increase the employability of vulnerable and less qualified people and to offer them a brighter future. The project is focused on young people between the age of 16 and 35 and will offer yearly courses in three fields – bakery, hospitality management and sales – in partnership with international companies such as AccorHotels and Decathlon.
These courses are free of charge and would be composed of technical lessons and basic management courses (English, IT). After completion, the students will obtain a diploma that is nationally recognized by the SENAI and the SENAC, the two training authorities in Brazil.
