Belgium: Becode - Education in digital skills to reduce unemployment and serve industry needs

  • Status

    Ongoing

  • Location Charleroi

With a 50% unemployment rate in Charleroi, there is a major mismatch between skilled resources & industry needs, particularly in digital sciences. This project aims to bridge the gap by developing new talents with digital competences. Target learners are usually distant from the job market (long-term job seekers, no diplomas or low-level diplomas, women, disabled people), but highly motivated.

This project includes a 7-month training & 3-month internship inspired from the Simplon methodology (practical situations met in real professional life and coaching for technical & behaviour guidance). Alstom teams will actively participate to provide the essential industrial context and align to the need for talents in the digital field (possibility to be integrated in Alstom at completion of the training).
